The first Bristol Festival of Photography will be held in May & June 2010. The aim of the festival is to promote all artistic and practical aspects of photography, with exhibitions, talks, fun activities and workshops.

Second Look will be running a second PhotoMarathon for the festival, a big group show Second Look Shoots It at Centrespace, a hands on Portrait Workshop and two Photography Lecture Evenings. You can see more about these events in our main Events section.

Individual members will also be running a range of other fun events:

Underground Overground - Images of the Bristol Music Culture by Lisa Furness Photo Exhibition running at the Colston Hall from May 24th to June 14th

Flashcube - A collection of images of the Cube Cinema by various photographers curated by Sarah Macfarlane will hang at the Cube from May 17th - June 19th. There is also an event at the Cube on Sunday 23rd May, exploring the point where photography & cinema collide.

Urban Fragments - photography by Jade French Friday 7th May - Saturday 29th May, The Grant Bradley Gallery, Bedminster, BS3 4AQ

The Instant Tattoo Emporium - Kath Gatt and Martin Edward's contemporary take on the traditional seaside 'stand-in' providing free instant 'tattoos' for the whole family, great for adults and kids alike. (see pic below Catch them at: Saturday 22nd May, King's Square, part of the Stokes Croft Street Sunday 23rd May, The Cube, King's Square, 8 pm till around 10 pm. Monday 24th May, The Mall Shopping Centre, Broadmead, 9 am onwards.

Crossing the Threshold - Simon Caplan has a picture in this exhibition run by Retro Collectables and Broadwalk Arts which explores the experience of entering environments that potentially hold trepidation.
